Vintage YALE & TOWNE Counter DisplayYale Safety Deposit Lock No. 6200 B
Yale & Towne Mfg. Co,, Stamford, Connecticut
Two Yale nickel plated cylinders with one key each and
a 1 3/4 x 3 5/8 polished bronze lock mounted on a
4 1/2"w x 61/2"h nicely patinaed wooden display with a
3" deep base. The lock is a Yale safe deposit lock
#6200B ( The B means it has a non-automatic guard.)
There is also a small Yale & Towne round plate with the
trade mark trefoil or clover design with Y & T in the center
mounted above the cylinders. There is a Yale &
Towne
paper label on the bottom of the display with 6200B written
on it. 6200B is also stamped on the top
.
The last picture is from a 1908 Yale bank Lock catalog.
To unlock, the key for the cylinder on the right must be
turned a quarter to the left first
until you hear the click
.
Then the key for the left
hand cylinder can be turned to
right until the bolt is drawn in. To lock, turn the key in the
left hand cylinder back to the left.
The display is in very good condition. There are some scratches
and nicks to the wood mounting display. The wood has a nice,
aged patina. Each key operates easily and the bolt snaps open. There is some tarnish on the lock itself and on the Yale trefoil
design disk. Please check the pictures for more condition details.
