Vintage SWEDEN 6.5" WOOD Blue DALA ROOSTER CARVING Folk Art NILS OLSSON #1-  We always buy Dala Horses and Roosters when we can find them - and we just found this really nice  one and were very pleased to purchase this (as well as another smaller rooster and a Very Large 10" Dala Horse.  It is the older style horse- not the heavily lacquered version you usually find.   We do not know the exact date on this item but estimate it to be from 1940-70s.  It is not dated nor signed and does not have the label so we do not know the Scandinavian Artist Name but it is very similar to the paint designs or accents done by NILS OLSSON.  It is a really pretty colorfully painted dark or royal blue base paint with really folksy designs or accents on the horse.  There is also some very minor (if any) paint wear as expected on an item of this age and use.

The item measures approx just short of 6.5" tall from base bottom to top of comb and it is approx and measures approx 6" wide at widest points.  This will make an excellent addition to your Antique Folk Art, Rooster/Horse Collection or Scandinavian/Swedish Antiques/Folk Art.  Buyer pays  .95 shipping.
