Description
Just removed from the First National Bank vault: OriginalYale Triple Movement Time Lock complete with automatic bolt motor and vault dial. Under the inside lip within the vault, the original paperwork was tucked away for the safe.
Exceedingly rare to find all this from a bank. Especially
the First National Bank.
Even more unheard of is to find it with the First National Bank paperwork for the safe. That's just never found, not ever. This is a great find, a piece of american history.
Very collectible and a great investment. Knowing that the provenance of the antique vault was from
First National Bank increases the value of the
Yale Triple Movement Time Lock,
automatic bolt motor and vault dial..
it increases it's value tremendously, perhaps 10 fold or more.
You get all these
original
First National Bank vault
components, all original to the safe.
NOTE: The
Yale Triple Movement Time Lock has the
more complex release bolt known as a Gesswein Attachment , or "G Attachment", a secondary lock that prevented the time
lock from securing the door during business hours.
First National Bank purchased this in 1907
If you collect
Old Money from The First National Bank; This bank produced some very beautiful and collectible notes.
But the only money this comes with are a couple old coins that came loose when we found the
First National Bank paperwork. I think one is a buffalo nickle like 1930's era and the other looks like an old liberty dime. It was in there, so I'm sending you that too.
After serving the
First National Bank for many many years; the City purchased this safe and it stayed on with them at the municipal liquor store serving/ protecting daily.
These are the
original
Yale Triple Movement Time Locks, numbered consecutively. These are like Rolex watches, beautiful to look at and watch these machines work.
I would guess it's gold, no tarnishing and beautiful porcelain dials.
Complete with automatic bolt motor and vault dial and
Includes time-lock key
Very reliable time-lock. It has been in daily use for about 110 years. I was told by city management that the time-locks were always set daily, never a failure. They run beautifully.
To operate/ arm the Yale
automatic bolt motor. Insert the large t-bar and give it about 1/4 turn ccw. It takes only a second to arm it.
See photos, I wish I could add many more.
The large nickle ring.. that went around the
Yale Triple Movement and the
automatic bolt motor. The door on that ring has been removed, probably by the
First National Bank many years ago so they didn't have to open it a couple times every day. I'll include the ring though. See photos.
The safe dial (Yale) is missing the insert/ beauty dial, has a bruise on the turn dial and the insert threads may meed to be chased in on spot. The vault dial was struck but still works well. It was in service like this until about 2020 when we purchased this safe.
Do a search for: ANTIQUE YALE NATIONAL SAFE & LOCK COMPANY SAFE LOCK AND DIAL
and you will see what that insert style is.
I package well to assure safe transit, double boxed.
To see what style safe this all came from; search for: safecombinationlock /national_safe_cannonball_time_lock_bank_money_safe_combination_dial_screw_door
That is not the safe, but almost exactly, same door, copper ring, gold plating etc.
The safe/ vault is gone, sold for scrap and ground up a couple months back, so please don't ask. The safe weighed more than a car (not shippable) But you get all of the good stuff from
